Initially, the AE will concentrate on outbound sales prospecting, re-engaging past customers, and qualifying leads. Over time, this role will evolve to encompass more comprehensive sales responsibilities, including creating and winning sales opportunities.
Initial Responsibilities (Sales Development Representative Focus):
- Utilize the company CRM (NetSuite): Conduct calls and send emails to generate new sales opportunities, specifically targeting past customers who have not ordered in the last 12 months (Tier 6 customers).
- Set up Appointment Calls: Facilitate meetings between qualified customers and Account Executives.
- Customer Engagement Preparation: Prepare customers for engagement with an Account Executive and/or evaluate their genuine interest in making a purchase.
- Achieve Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Results: Meet key performance metrics for lead generation and customer qualification.
Long-Term Responsibilities (Account Executive Focus):
- Maintain current market and competitor knowledge related to our products. Develop an understanding of customers' evolving application and operational challenges.
- Create and win sales opportunities for our products within assigned territories and named accounts.
- Develop viable product solutions that effectively meet customer needs while achieving optimal margins.
- Maintain scorecards to ensure quality work and accountability.
- Provide a superior purchasing experience for our customers by responding to inquiries, providing quotes, and taking orders.
- Handle the logistics of ordering and sourcing products.
- Negotiate sale and purchase prices.
The role is designed to evolve from an SDR focus to an Account Executive position, offering a clear career advancement path within the sales organization.
- Detail-oriented and transparent in communication
- Should have well-established typing skills and an understanding of MS Office
- Strong communication skills via phone and email
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
- Prior experience as a sales development rep with a track record of achieving sales quotas (preferred but not required)
