CMM Programmer/Operator
Responsible for CMM inspection of machined and assembled product, including program writing. Ensures conformance and compliance to applicable drawing, specification, and industry/regulatory requirements. Performs part marking/identification and manual inspections as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute CMM programs on Zeiss CMM equipment for purchased, in-process, and finished product
- Validate Zeiss CMM functionality and perform routine probe calibration/validation processes, including maintaining appropriate styli and probe accessories
- Review equipment and fixturing routinely for issues and coordinate outside maintenance or purchase of additional hardware/software with Quality Manager as needed
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of parts at the surface plate using appropriate measurement devices for purchased, in-process, and finished product to ensure satisfaction of quality standards, as well as industry codes and standards, as required
- Perform additional support for plate inspection, part marking, FAI/Data packages, inspections, and shipments to ensure quality workload is completed on a timely basis.
- Perform assigned tasks with appropriate measures of both speed and accuracy.
- Ensure accuracy of documents used/generated in daily activities for accuracy and quality of presentation.
- Identify and label all quality defects and generate nonconformance reports for products which do not meet the applicable requirements as required
- Be able to understand/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes while utilizing industry best-practices to select appropriate measuring equipment and methods for inspections
- Adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures
- Participate in and complete all mandatory overtime, including Saturday and Sunday, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Aerodyn management
requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of CMM programming/operating experience with tight tolerance product (4 decimal place values)
- 3+ years of Aerospace or Automotive industry experience
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, and other precise measurement equipment
- Familiarity with AS9100:D/ISO9001:2015 preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook)
- Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable operating independently and with a team
- Must demonstrate ability to act professionally
- Minimum travel required
