Manufacturing Estimating Assistant – NORTH AMERICA, INDIANAPOLIS, IN
Aerodyn Engineering is looking for a Manufacturing Estimating Assistant to support the sourcing, estimating, and key purchasing decisions that keep our quotes accurate and our customer projects profitable. You’ll work closely with the Manufacturing Department Manager, digging into bills of materials, calculating vendor pricing, and making sure every estimate reflects the real scope of work before it goes out to the customer.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide quoting assistance to the Manufacturing Department Manager on manufactured components/assemblies.
- Develop accurate estimates for scope of work and pricing across all manufactured components/assemblies.
- Source material/hardware quoting from outside vendors, ensuring estimates reflect current, precise scope of work.
- Thoroughly comprehend Bills of Materials (BOMs) and understand any required special outside processes.
- Work with outside vendors/services to secure the best possible pricing without compromising material quality, preparing pricing from multiple sources.
- Review historical quotes for similar/exact parts and their variations, reviewing profitability for accurate quoting practices.
- Enter all quote data into the ERP system.
- Ensure quote data is processed on time for customer due dates, allowing time for management review.
- Evaluate lessons learned and budgets with engineering and manufacturing to drive continuous improvement.

- Exposure to sourcing, estimating, and purchasing across a wide range of manufactured components.
Requirements:
- Must have previous manufacturing experience and/or related industry experience in defense/aircraft component manufacturing.
- Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable operating independently and with a team.
- Must demonstrate ability to act professionally.
