POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will report to the Vice President of Finance, with a primary focus on general accounting duties, including financial reporting, bookkeeping, and managing accounts payable/receivable. Additional responsibilities include budget preparation, financial analysis, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The Staff Accountant will gain hands-on experience in all facets of accounting, financial planning, and analysis and will collaborate on special projects to support broader company financial objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assuring the organization is in the strongest possible position to increase its operational effectiveness, influence, and likelihood that it can accomplish both its mission and move closer to realizing the organization’s vision. To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform, in a satisfactory manner, the functions listed below.
ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS
- Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and expense reimbursements.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial closings, including preparing reconciliations and financial statements.
- Collaborate with the finance team on accounting projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
- Conduct budget analysis, variance reporting, and assist with financial forecasting.
- Analyze financial performance and provide data-driven recommendations to improve company efficiency.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to review monthly results and set annual budgets.
- Support financial decision-making through accurate modeling and forecasting.
REPORTING & COMPLIANCE
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
PROJECT SUPPORT
- Assist with the development and implementation of new accounting systems and procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years experience in public accounting or 5+ years experience in private accounting is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High personal integrity and strong work ethic.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Team player with a mindset that no task is too small or too big, always willing to collaborate and jump in where needed.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; excited to take on projects, own them, and drive them to completion.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, investment management, and/or entrepreneurial companies preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Salesforce, advanced Excel, Ramp, and G-Suite is a plus.
