Open position · On-sitePosted: 08/02/2026 • Deadline: Open until filled • Location: West Lafayette, IN What you'll do- Develop advanced computational mechanics and finite element analysis (FEA) solutions.- Design, implement, and validate engineering simulation algorithms.- Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to engineering applications.- Develop high-performance software in C++ and Python.- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and software developers.- Contribute to product innovation, research initiatives, and technical strategy. Qualifications- Strong background in mechanical engineering, applied physics, or a related field, with experience in research and development of mechanical systems.- Proficiency in modeling and simulation techniques (e.g., FEA, CFD, or multibody dynamics) and in numerical methods and data analysis.- Proficiency in developing computational codes from basic principles.- Proficiency in software development, parallelization, and optimization.- Proficiency in C++ and Python.- Experience applying artificial intelligence / machine learning techniques.- Effective technical communication skills.- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and managing tasks across multiple projects and deadlines.- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline preferred; relevant industry or research experience strongly valued.- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality, ethical, and safe engineering practices.
