Miftek is a Purdue Research Park company that designs state of the art instrumentation for life science and diagnostics. This rapidly expanding company has been awarded several key patents in the fields of cytometry, spectroscopy, and photonics. We are now developing a novel solution for single cell analysis. Our facility located in West Lafayette has easy access to campus, shopping, and downtown.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical/Mechatronics Technician or Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of our innovative cytometric instrumentation.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical, mechatronic, fluidics, and supporting systems for high-precision scientific instruments.
- Utilize Fusion CAD software for 3D modeling, drafting, and design analysis.
- Development innovative solutions for complex mechanical and mechatronic challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, optical, and software engineers.
- Participate in design reviews, develop procedures and tests to ensure product characteristics and performance.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of design processes and results.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical and mechatronic technology.
- Contribute to intellectual property development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an aligned technology degree. An associates degree with 2 years experience.
- Strong proficiency in Fusion CAD software.
- Proven experience in mechanical and/or mechatronic design and development.
- A strong portfolio of projects demonstrating skills in mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics.
- A passion for science and technology.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to learn new skills quickly.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with electrical, optics, lasers, FPGA, embedded systems, and manufacturing systems (BOM, PLM, ERP, and quality).
