PawCo is a VC-backed startup leading the premium pet food market on a mission to change the way our dogs eat and live. We’re building a trusted brand for pet parents who want the best for their furry companions. As we scale, we need a VP of Growth & Marketing to lead our creative and guerilla marketing, customer acquisition, retention, and brand-building efforts.
The Role
As VP of Growth & Marketing, you will oversee and execute PawCo’s growth strategy while leading our marketing team. You will own organic marketing, omni-channel GTM, brand strategy, lifecycle marketing, and partnerships, ensuring alignment between growth, brand storytelling, and community engagement. This role is ideal for a data-driven, creative, and strategic leader who can drive both acquisition and retention while building an iconic brand.
Key ResponsibilitiesGrowth & Performance Marketing
- Develop and execute a full-funnel growth strategy to scale customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
- Own organic and guerilla marketing, and referral programs.
- Manage CAC, LTV, and conversion rates to ensure sustainable growth.
- Leverage analytics tools (Webflow,Google Analytics, Amplitude, etc) to track performance and refine strategies.
Marketing & Brand Leadership
- Lead brand strategy and storytelling, ensuring consistency across all channels.
- Oversee content marketing, social media, and community engagement to drive organic growth.
- Develop and execute PR and influencer marketing strategies to build brand awareness.
- Collaborate with the product team to align marketing with product positioning and launches.
Partnerships & Customer Experience
- Identify and execute strategic partnerships with influencers, vets, and pet retailers.
- Improve customer journey and retention strategies, including loyalty programs and subscription optimizations.
- Lead market research and consumer insights to inform strategy and product development.
Leadership & Team Building
- Build and scale a high-performing marketing and growth team.
- Manage agency relationships and external partners to drive performance.
- Foster a data-driven, test-and-learn culture within the team.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful experience in CPG brands
- 8+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or brand marketing, ideally in DTC e-commerce, pet, or CPG brands.
- Proven ability to scale early-stage startups through data-driven and brand-led growth strategies.
- Deep expertise in paid media, SEO, email/SMS, conversion optimization, and lifecycle marketing.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar tools.
- Experience leading brand storytelling, content marketing, and community engagement.
- Passion for pets and an understanding of the pet food industry is a plus!
- A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute in a fast-moving startup environment.
