Laboratory Manager

Summary of Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced laboratory manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Toralgen’s laboratory and maintain the regular book-keeping for ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all testing and analysis is performed according to established protocols and that results are well documented; and the project tracker is updated on a weekly basis with inputs from the project leaders. They may also be involved in developing new procedures or techniques as well as training staff on protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing workflow: responsible for managing the lab’s work schedule and resource allocation. This includes scheduling experiments, ensuring that experiments are conducted in a timely manner, and ensuring that all equipment and materials are available.
- Materials Management: responsible for managing the lab’s supplies and material inventory. This includes ordering supplies, ensuring that supplies are properly stored, ensuring that supplies are used in accordance with safety protocols and shipping study materials to CROs and partners with proper material handling instructions; and maintain the shipping records internally.
- Team Communication: responsible for sending meeting invites with agenda as requested, moderating the laboratory meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and drafting action item lists.
- Maintain Quality Systems: Ensure lab documentation conforms with company quality systems and partner expectations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, biology).
- 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills. A proven history of driving projects to completion and achieving project timelines.
- Ability to work within a team and as a strong team player with strong collaboration mind set, communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of internal/external partners

- Experience with working in a networked technical organization with proven skills in collaboratively working with suppliers and alliance partners.

- Working knowledge of compliance issues and regulatory requirements.
