Mission

Our customers use Traduality to serve their limited-English members in their own language, reliably and securely. You will own the platform behind our multicultural customer experience products that use real-time speech translation: Fire Lingo Face-to-Face and Fire Lingo Contact Center. You will build new features, keep production healthy, and use AI-assisted (agentic) engineering as your main way of working.

Responsibilities

• Work with the CEO and the technical team to decide what gets built, and bring the longer-term technical view.
• Design and build features end to end: backend, web, integrations and infrastructure.
• Use agentic engineering (e.g. Claude Code) to deliver work: write development plans and task specs, maintain agent instructions and skills, and review all AI-generated changes.
• Review every production change, including AI-assisted changes from non-engineers, and set the guardrails (tests, CI, written conventions) that make that review fast and reliable.
• Own our AI translation pipeline (speech-to-text, machine translation, LLMs, text-to-speech). Evaluate and switch vendors per language based on quality, latency and cost.
• Own the database: schema changes across single-tenant customer databases, migrations and restores.
• Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure for new customers, including backups, monitoring and CI.
• Be the first responder when production breaks, and communicate outages to customers clearly and honestly.
• Mentor and unblock our junior software developer.

Requirements

• About 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including owning production systems.
• Fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
• Proven hands-on agentic coding experience, with examples you can show us.
• Cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) and Linux administration.
• SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Git and code review workflows.
• Experience in Go (our main language). TypeScript is a plus.
• Comfort being on call for a production system used during customers’ business hours.
• Several hours of daily overlap with US Eastern business hours.

Preferred

• Experience integrating LLM or AI APIs in production (e.g. OpenAI, DeepL, speech-to-text/text-to-speech providers)
• Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code tools
• Monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana
• Swift/SwiftUI specifically, including App Store releases
