OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Operational Technology Specialist to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role includes a mix of Operational Technology (OT) implementation, system administration, support, and cybersecurity related functions and provides an excellent opportunity to learn and build your technological experience in a regulated environment.
The Industrial Operational Technology Specialist is responsible for the setup, configuration and administration, and support of various OT applications (including on-premises and Cloud), as well as partnering to support the organization’s computer systems, networks, and data for select site locations, operations teams, and platforms.
This role involves setting up and supporting OT technology in manufacturing environments, on production floors, and throughout the enterprise. The role involves supporting Manufacturing, Production, and Operations computers and technology equipment, providing support for technology partners and business users, performing relevant network and wireless deployment, and monitoring OT systems for performance and reliability.
This position also involves working as part of a team implementing technology solutions to support business operations, manufacturing, and production floor technologies such as robotic systems, automation machinery, computer aided production equipment, manufacturing lasers/cutters, environmental monitoring equipment, IoT sensors and systems, machine shop equipment, quality measurement equipment, and various hardware platforms including tablets, kiosks, Windows computers, and related software applications. This position will also be a partner to support various office technologies and systems including conference rooms, Teams Room Systems, audio-visual systems, voice and telephony systems, security system components, printers, copiers, and peripherals.
This position will be primarily responsible for OT and will also provide IT support to include administering systems, performing updates/patches, monitoring and troubleshooting, and responding to production outages to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems. Occasional travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Provide Local Site Support and Coordinate to provide on-site IT support and project support as needed.
- System Administration: Setup, administration and management of various on-premises OT, Cloud OT, and IoT systems. Administer and maintain systems in support of the business, configure applications to maintain adequate confidentiality, integrity, availability, and security. Evaluate, implement and support new technologies.
- System & Application Security: Develop, implement, and enforce OT security policies, protocols, and standards. Partner with technology partners to monitor OT systems, and applications for unusual activity or potential threats. Perform security assessments for OT systems to identify risks. Collaborate with developers and IT teams to secure OT software and infrastructure. Ensure the secure configuration of OT servers, endpoints, and Cloud components.
- Technical Support: Provide OT technical support for users and business partners, implement fixes and patches as appropriate, troubleshoot technical issues, and remediate issues and vulnerabilities to optimize system performance. Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 OT and technical IT support for business teams, as well as front-line support to users and departments. Provide support for business equipment, including networking, servers, computers, printers, and business systems.
- OT Incident Response: Coordinate with IT and Cyber teams to respond to security incidents or potential cybersecurity issues promptly. Create reports detailing incidents and remediation steps. Partner to implement measures to prevent future breaches, including updates and patches, and document standards as needed.
- Compliance & Training: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO-9001, NIST 800-171). Participate in training and help provide training for employees.
- Partner & Document Knowledge: Collaborate and work closely with technology partners and business partners to document standards and configurations, plus communicate and share information effectively with team members. Create documentation and share knowledge to ensure efficient operations and business continuity.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest OT, IoT and Industrial Operational Technology trends, tools, and technologies. Recommend and implement enhancements to existing practices and tools. Conduct regular disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
- Prioritization of Requests: Manage and Prioritize support desk tickets and manage issues in partnership with technical specialists.
SKILLS • EXPERIENCE • EDUCATION:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, and/or related relevant practical career experience preferred.
- Security in Windows environment (experience required).
- Azure cloud environments experience with Government Cloud experience preferred.
- Microsoft M365 and Office 365 experience preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in IT, OT, IoT, or a related role.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA certificates are a plus.
- Strong understanding of IT frameworks, concepts, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with IT systems and tools, servers, workstations, networks, firewalls, endpoints, and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Platforms.
- Knowledge of network protocols and architectures (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
- Excellent technical documentation skills and ability to create and maintain documentation related to configuration and management of systems.
- Experience with Cybersecurity Requirements is a plus.
