Configuration Management Specialist (Radar Systems)

The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist supports radar system development and sustainment programs by managing configuration data, documentation, and baselines in accordance with Warrant Technologies and DoD standards. This position ensures that radar hardware, software, and documentation changes are properly identified, tracked, and controlled throughout the system lifecycle. The CM Specialist works closely with engineers, logistics personnel, and program management to maintain configuration integrity and compliance across all deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain configuration management processes, plans, and tools for radar-related programs.
- Track and control hardware and software baselines, including engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Support engineering change requests (ECRs), change notices (ECNs), and deviation/waiver documentation.
- Ensure proper versioning, labeling, and archival of configuration items (CIs).
- Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and provide CM status reports.
- Coordinate with radar engineering teams to document updates to radar components, firmware, and system software.
- Maintain accurate records of radar configuration items and provide traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
- Verify that configuration documentation aligns with fielded radar systems and test configurations.
- Support audits, inspections, and program reviews to demonstrate compliance with DoD and Warrant Technologies CM requirements.
- Assist with data management and technical documentation control, including use of CM/DM software tools (e.g., SharePoint, Windchill, PDM, or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in configuration management or data management within a DoD environment.
- Familiarity with radar systems, subsystems, or related electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of CM principles per MIL-HDBK-61A or equivalent DoD/industry standards.
- Experience managing configuration baselines, change control, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in CM software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Navy or other DoD radar programs.
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMPIC, CMII, or similar).
- Experience with software configuration control and version management tools (e.g., Git, SVN, or similar).
- Familiarity with drawing management systems and CAD file control.
