 Position Summary
Sharpen is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to take ownership of our client billing operations, month-end close procedures, and other ad-hoc project as necessary. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting who thrives on accuracy, process improvement, and clear communication. You will be responsible for maintaining customer invoicing and ensuring proper revenue recognition in a fast-paced SaaS/CCaaS environment.
 
We’re looking for a self-starter who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers and internal teams, and proactively facilitate process improvement and efficiency. If you're passionate about clean ledgers and efficient accounting cycles, we’d love to hear from you.
 
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end client invoicing process, including generation, delivery, reconciliation, revenue recognition, and customer follow-up
Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers
Assist with audit preparations and providing documentation to auditors
Identify and suggest improvements to billing workflows and system efficiency
Close Process: Timely and accurate completion of assignments including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with other accounting and finance tasks as assigned including research projects and system implementations
 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–3 years of experience in an accounting or billing-focused role (or a Master’s degree in Accounting)
Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and other billing best practices
Proficient in online accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Previous experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue business preferred
Familiarity with automated billing systems & implementations is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer service mindset
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
